Picking the Right Home Theater and DVD for Your Home

It seems that each year there are new advancements in the way we watch TV, movies, DVD’s, and the music we have on our iPod’s, or, for us old people, our CD collection. So how do you know what’s going to be just right, when it comes to your home theater? If you have a limitless budget, and an especially large media room to house your new home theatre, then the sky’s the limit for you.

Gone are the days when you were restricted to a small TV in the corner of the room, with several chairs pulled right up close so haytheatre.com that everyone could see what was going on; now you can have screens that are larger than many people have wall space for. With the constant improvements in the screens quality of display, via LCD and LED technology, having a screen larger than 50 inches doesn’t mean that the picture will be any the less clearer.

If you add in high definition, then you really are getting the sort of picture that would have been unimaginable, even just a few years ago. Of course, your home theater can get even better than that. These days DVD’s are a bit ‘old hat’; the picture quality is still as good as it has ever been, but when you compare it to a blu-ray picture, you may as well be comparing; Ralph (age 2), and his kindergarten finger painting; to Leonardo da Vinci (age 559) and his doodle of The Mona Lisa; they really are that different. Now we can go 3D, too.

There are certain sports that just cry out to be in 3D, and now you can have it in your own home theatre. Movies just leap out at you, and, when it’s finally released, flying down the ‘Death Star’ trench in ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’, is going to be phenomenal; 3D, HD, giant screen, full on 7.1 surround sound; I’ll be watching over my shoulder for Darth Vader’s T.I.E fighter. That’s another thing; surround sound; no, wait, not just your ordinary surround sound, 7.1 surround sound; you’ve got it all going on around you, and I bet you’ll keep looking behind you when you first start to use it. Also, imagine your latest mp3’s coming out of your new home theatre; so, who needs concert tickets when it already sounds like you’re right in the middle of it all?

What does the future hold for you, your home theater, and DVD collection? First off, you may have to move house. If your current home isn’t big enough to handle these new toys, then maybe it’s time you upsized anyway? Is that a bit too extreme? Well you can get smaller versions of the TV’s; but it’s not quite the same, is it? There are new feature packed TV’s, blu-ray’s, sound systems, and virtually any other home theater related products that you can think of, coming out all the time; as they come out, the slightly older models decrease in price, so the ultimate system may only be a few months away, in terms of cost; as to having the space to house it all; I hear house extensions aren’t as expensive as they were; not in this economy, anyway..
